Manor House Hotel Wedding Fair

On Sunday 4th January 2009 Jam Wedding Films exhibited at the Manor House Hotel Wedding Fair (www.manorhouse-hotel.com) hosted by Guides for Brides (www.guidesforbrides.co.uk).

Despite the bitterly cold weather, we had a really good turnout with 88 brides and their families passing through the doors – with really positive feedback from everyone who attended and exhibited about Jam Wedding Films!

Amberley Castle, Surrey

The sunshine was only one of the many highlights on such a fabulous day at the historic Amberley Castle. The grounds were imacculately presented for the guests attending the marriage of Menka and Jon.

The guests were eagerly anticipating the reveal of the bride at the ceremony, and a few gasps were heard when Menka arrived looking stunning in her floor-length ivory gown. The singer at the service brought tears to many a dry eye during the vows!

The speeches at the reception brought fun and laughter to the proceedings, and a mention of those that could not be there on the special day were well received. A competition between the tables, Frank Sinatra and a chocolate fountain marked the beginning of the evening's celebrations; a wonderful fireworks display at the castle's grounds were enjoyed by all that were there to mark the occasion and celebrate with Jon and Menka well into the night.

Hampton Court Palace Wedding

The most striking thing about David and Jacqui’s wedding was its ability to brilliantly maintain the difficult balance of being elegant and yet intimate. The ceremony was held in a beautifully decorated church, with a bubble machine a cheeky final touch to send off the newlyweds to the reception.

This balance of class and fun was continued when the wedding party arrived at Hampton Court Palace. It truly was a meal and locale fit for royalty. Family and friends chatted and laughed together, but soon moved from the tables to tear up the dance floor. A brilliant day for a great couple.

Fanhams Hall Hotel Wedding

The small church was situated in an extremely scenic village with huge history and character. The ceremony was brilliant, and the Reverend delivered a wonderful address.

The reception was held at Fanhams Hall Hotel which is both extremely stunning and accommodating. A brief gap in the rainy weather allowed the couple to take a romantic stroll through the gorgeous grounds.

Tears were brought to many eyes when a wonderful female barber shop quartet called ‘Sounds Familiar’ performed ‘A Little Bit More’ as a surprise for the Bride.

For the children, a personalised ice cream van was only outshined by a mammoth bubble machine in the first dance!

West Lodge Park Wedding

With a British Groom and the Bride of Zambian origin, the union of this couple in love was truly a time for dancing!

The 4 ushers and 4 bridesmaids performed a fantastic dance at the wedding breakfast to announce the entrance of the new husband and wife. This was followed by a brilliant knife girl dance to introduce the cutting of the cake. With an evening full of energetic dancing I had to resist not dancing myself!

Windsor Wedding

The day began with two double decker red London buses arriving with guests in the centre of the historic city of Windsor. The Guildhall provided a wonderful setting for the marriage with many large paintings of past and present monarchs.

The wedding breakfast was held at the grand Northcote House, Sunningdale. A fantastic crèche facility was available which meant that all the parents could enjoy the celebrations whilst the children were having fun painting, watching DVD’s and playing.

A very jovial first dance was finished with a burst of confetti and glitter from the ceiling. Not only was it a magical moment – but the children had hours of fun skidding and sliding around on it on the dance floor afterwards!

Holland Park, Kensington Wedding

Despite somewhat challenging weather – the outside venue of the Orangery in Holland Park was extremely pleasant with many beautiful roses in flower.

With a Victorian ice cream float and a superb meal provided by the Belvedere Restaurant all the guests could not have asked for more. However, they did get more when the tenors incognito surprised everyone! They even had everyone standing on their chairs and waving their napkins in the air!

I don’t think that I have ever heard so much laughter at a wedding – it was indeed a day of celebration!

Hinton Grange Wedding

After a beautiful church ceremony in Chipping Sodbury the reception was held at the very picturesque Hinton Grange.

Two actresses dressed up as various characters throughout the day. From window cleaners to old maids to doormen in the evening. This provided thorough entertainment for everyone involved in the wedding and the children loved it!

With a pond both in the grounds and in the centre of wedding breakfast – the use of water was both tranquil and enjoyable to film.

The evening held even more entertainment with a firedancer who certainly kept us all warm!

Coventry Wedding

Saturday's Coventry wedding was the ideal wedding. Despite a cold wind, the sun was out and the flowers were blooming. The vicar was extremely welcoming and co-operative, allowing one operator to stand at the front of the church and one at the back. Not only that – but the photographer was very accommodating and friendly.

With the reception held at Ardencote Manor Hotel – it was stunning to see a rainbow on the horizon as the guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast.

The day finished with messages for the bride and groom; some very kind and memorable, some just hilarious!

Warwick Wedding

We filmed a lovely small wedding on Easter Monday in Warwick. It was very cold and it even snowed! But as the sun set, its rays was streamed into the marquee - stunning!

My three favourite things about their wedding were:

1. On the orders of service were characatures of the couple in front of the church – was great fun and very colourful!

2. The couple took the term ‘cheesecake’ to the extreme. They had a five-tiered cake, with each tier being a different kind of cheese. And to top it off, they draped a beautiful pink orchid down the side.

3. The Three Waiters performed at the wedding – I have heard about them but had never seen them until then. They were fantastic – but the success of their performance was massively dependent upon their surprise, or their ‘shock factor’. They would be a brilliant surprise/present for a friend at their wedding!
